The Curriculum covers the children’s learning in terms of acquiring skills, gaining knowledge and experiences, shaping attitudes, developing and forming behaviour patterns. The school follows the National Curriculum in teaching the children a broad and balanced range of skills and experiences. 

Each stage of your child’s development and education is carefully planned and focuses on six areas of learning covering children’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

At Haimo we follow the DfEs Letters and Sounds programme to teach phonics.

We are also part of the  CLPE's Power of Reading Project. The  project aims to enhance children’s pleasure in reading, and to raise children’s achievement through teachers’ knowledge of literature and its use in the classroom. To further develop English at Haimo we are also a part of the No Nonsense Grammar and No Nonsense Spelling programs.

Our vision for Science is to offer our pupils a Science Curriculum which encourages curiosity and gives them opportunities to understand and explore the world through asking and answering their own questions.We inspire our pupils to become scientists by using a range of teaching approaches that encourage curiosity through hands-on enquiry style learning. We ensure challenging real life experiences linked to outside learning that will help them secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary whilst allowing them a safe environment in which to take risks and build resilience. We believe that these opportunities will ensure that our pupils are confident, life-long learners who will continue to be inspired and explore the world around them as they progress though their lives.
