What will we be learning this term?
Year 5
Year 5, London Bridge and Westminster Bridge classes will be learning about Woolwich Dockyards this term for our history unit and Magnificent Mountains for geography. We will study Earth and Space and STEM in science and Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr and Hindu Gods and Beliefs in RE.
We will continue with our sentence stacking for English and will be reading and writing a range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
In maths, we will be focusing on geometry, decimals, negative numbers and measure.
Year 6
Year 6, Tower Bridge and Chelsea Bridge Class will be learning about Our Changing World in Geography and Migration in History. We will be studying The Circulatory System and Light in science and Judaism in RE.
We will stop doing Sentence Stacking in English and move on to looking at different texts and how we can plan them. We will write a suspense story, an advert, a review and other different text types. We will also be working hard on editing and publishing our writing.
In maths, we will be studying Shape – our last unit before our SATs test and then doing some project work that will bring together everything we have learned in Key Stage Two.
